A four note pattern starting with a flammed double: flam, same hand again, then two alternating singles. Like an inverted paradiddle with a flam on top.
The flammed note and the note after it are the same hand, which feels wrong at first. Isolate that flammed double until it flows, then bolt on the two singles. Keep a clear accent on the flam and everything else low. Slow tempos, 60 BPM in 16ths, until the sticking feels normal.
Rudimental solos, and plenty of modern drumline licks start here.
All 40 rudiments are in DrumLock free, with notation on screen, a metronome, and a speed trainer that raises the BPM while you play. No ads, no subscriptions.
