DrumLock Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2026
Simple Summary: Your practice data, routines, and audio files stay on your device. We use Google Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports so we can improve the app. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Information Collection and Use
DrumLock is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or practice data to external servers.
Local Data Storage
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Practice session history: Duration and date/time of your practice sessions
- Custom practice routines: Routines you create are saved only to your device
- App preferences: Settings like selected sound, time signature, and BPM preferences
- Audio file references: When you add audio files to practice routines, DrumLock stores a reference to the file location on your device. The audio files themselves remain in their original location and are not copied or modified.
Important: This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to cloud services, and it is not accessible to us or any third parties.
Permissions
DrumLock requests minimal permissions:
- Notifications: Used only for optional speed trainer progress alerts. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.
- Media/file access: Used only to load audio files (MP3, WAV, FLAC) that you select for practice routines. DrumLock reads audio files from your device for playback only. Files are never uploaded, shared, or modified.
DrumLock does NOT request or use:
- Camera access
- Location services
- Contacts access
- Phone call access
Network Activity
DrumLock operates primarily offline. Network activity is limited to:
- Google Play Billing: processing in-app purchases (Pro upgrade)
- Google Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage statistics (which features are used, session counts) so we can improve the app
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: anonymous crash reports and diagnostic information so we can fix bugs
DrumLock does NOT:
- Transmit your practice data, custom routines, or audio files to external servers
- Collect any personally identifiable information
- Include advertising networks
- Sell or share data with third parties for marketing purposes
Third-Party Services
DrumLock integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Play Billing: Used to process in-app purchases (Pro upgrade). Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. DrumLock does not store or have access to your payment information.
- Google Firebase Analytics: Used to collect anonymous usage statistics: which features are used, session counts, app version, country, device type. No personally identifiable information is collected. This helps us understand how DrumLock is used and what to improve next.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: Used to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data (stack traces, device model, OS version) so we can identify and fix bugs.
DrumLock does not integrate with or share data with:
- Advertising networks
- Social media platforms
- Cloud storage services for personal data
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Your data is protected by your device's security features
- No data can be intercepted during transmission (because no transmission occurs)
- You maintain full control over your data
Data Deletion
You can delete all DrumLock data at any time by:
- Using the "Clear History" feature in the Session tab
- Uninstalling the app from your device (removes all local data)
Children's Privacy
DrumLock does not collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages and contains no inappropriate content.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Your Rights
Under privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to:
- Access your data (all stored locally on your device)
- Delete your data (via app features or uninstall)
- Export your data (custom routines are saved as JSON files)
Since no data is collected by us, there is no data for us to access, correct, or delete on our end.
