A paradiddle where the first note is itself a diddle: the accent becomes a fast double instead of a single stroke.
Unlike a drag, the opening diddle here takes the full rhythmic space of the first note and carries the accent. Think 'druh-da-did-dle'. Get the plain paradiddle solid, then double the first note without letting the group stretch. The 16th grid underneath must not flinch.
Hybrid drumline vocabulary and rudimental solos; on the kit it makes a nasty little snare-to-tom lick.
All 40 rudiments are built into DrumLock free, with this notation on screen, a metronome, and a speed trainer that ramps the BPM while you play. No ads, no subscriptions.
