Inverted Flam Tap drum notation with sticking

What it is

A flam followed by a tap on the OPPOSITE hand, so the grace-note hand immediately becomes the next primary. The inversion makes it far trickier than the regular flam tap.

How to practice it

The motion to own: after playing a grace note low, that same hand must instantly pop up to play the next full stroke. That up-down reversal is the whole rudiment. Go painfully slow, 50 BPM in 8ths, watching stick heights like a hawk. This is a known audition separator for a reason.

Where you'll hear it

Modern drumline and corps writing, hybrid licks, and advanced kit vocabulary for flammed linear phrases.

All 40 rudiments are built into DrumLock free, with this notation on screen, a metronome, and a speed trainer that ramps the BPM while you play. No ads, no subscriptions.
