What it is
Four singles and a double, twelve notes per full cycle. Naturally phrases in sixes, so it fits triplet and 6/8 feels.
How to practice it
Play it as sextuplets or in 6/8 with an accent on note one of each six. The extra singles give you more time before the hand flip, which makes this one easier than the single paradiddle at the same tempo. That makes it a good first step into moving accents around.
Where you'll hear it
6/8 grooves, jazz waltz comping, Afro-Cuban bell patterns, and triplet fills that need to alternate lead hands.
