What it is
Four doubles ending in two accented singles. Like a nine stroke roll but resolving with an accent on each hand.
How to practice it
The two ending accents are the identity of this roll, so give them real separation from the roll notes. Practice the four doubles soft and pop the last two notes. Keep the final accents evenly spaced instead of crushed together, which is the standard failure.
Where you'll hear it
Rudimental and hybrid solo writing, and any phrase that rolls into a two-note punctuation mark.
